★★★★★

"We were visiting Buenos Aires and looking for a wine experience without having to go to Mendoza. Verdot exceeded all our expectations. The sommelier was incredibly knowledgeable, had us taste Malbecs from different regions and explained the differences with such passion that we ended up buying three bottles to take home. The location in Recoleta is perfect, we walked from our hotel."

Frequently Asked Questions About Wine Tasting at Verdot

Do I need to know about wine to participate in a tasting?
Not at all! Our tastings are designed for all levels, from absolute beginners to experienced enthusiasts. Our sommeliers adapt the language and depth of explanation based on your knowledge level and curiosity. The 'Introduction to Argentine Wines' tasting is perfect if it's your first experience.
Are tastings available in English and Portuguese?
Yes, we offer guided tastings in Spanish, English and Portuguese. When making your reservation, simply indicate your preferred language and we'll assign a sommelier who speaks your native language fluently. This is especially valued by international tourists visiting Buenos Aires.
How long does a wine tasting last?
It depends on the experience you choose. Our tastings range from 45 minutes (Introduction to Argentine Wines) to 90 minutes (Premium Reserve or Pairing). We also offer customized tastings with flexible duration according to your needs and schedule.
How many wines are tasted in each session?
It varies by experience: from 3 wines in the introductory tasting to 5 wines in the Regional Journey. Pairing tastings include 4 wines + 4 dishes. The quantity is carefully calculated so you can enjoy, learn and remember each wine without overwhelming your palate.
Can I purchase the bottles I tasted?
Absolutely! All wines from our tastings are available for purchase by the bottle. Many visitors discover their new favorite wines and take them home. We also offer home delivery within Buenos Aires and special multi-bottle discount packs.
Do you offer private tastings for groups?
Yes, we organize private tastings for groups of 4 to 50 people. They're ideal for birthdays, bachelor/bachelorette parties, family reunions or groups of friends. We can completely customize the experience: wine selection, theme, pairings and duration. Contact us to create a tailored proposal.
Do tastings include food?
Most of our tastings include accompaniments: welcome tapas or our cheese and charcuterie board depending on the chosen experience. The 'Wine & Food Pairing' tasting adds signature dishes from our kitchen designed to go with the wines.
How do I get to Verdot from hotels in Recoleta?
We're located at Av. Pte. Quintana 465, in the heart of Recoleta. If you're staying at hotels like Alvear Palace, Four Seasons, Mio Buenos Aires or Recoleta Grand, you can walk here in 5-10 minutes. There are also taxi stands and subway stations (Line D - Pueyrredón) very close by.
Should I book in advance?
Yes, we recommend booking at least 48 hours in advance, especially for weekends, holidays and tastings in English/Portuguese. This allows us to ensure availability of specific wines and assign the right sommelier for your experience. For private group tastings, we suggest booking 1 week in advance.
What's the difference between going to Verdot and taking a tour to Mendoza?
Both are valuable but different experiences. Verdot allows you to explore wines from ALL Argentine regions (Mendoza, Salta, Patagonia, San Juan) in a single afternoon, with no transportation, in downtown Buenos Aires, with schedule flexibility and at a more accessible price ($8,500-$22,000 ARS vs $50,000+ ARS for a tour). A Mendoza tour offers the vineyard and winery experience, but requires 1-2 full days and focuses on a single region.
